Hello Everyone,

This is my first time ever reaching out publicly about my situation. I was extremely overweight 4 years ago. I decided to take over my life and loose some weight. A year later and down quite a bit i felt great and unstoppable. It was far from easy and my life had changed, Up until about 6 months ago. My binge eating has no gotten out of control. I've gained back some of that weight and i feel like i cannot gain control of the situation. I lost all motivation and food has taken over my life, again. I'm hoping reaching out to people will help me realize that i can move on from this and regain control over my life again. How can something like food have this much control over someone? Help, Please.

Hello dianna: Since this is your first post here on PC... welcome to PsychCentral! I trust you will find the time you spend here to be of benefit. Here are links to 3 articles, from PsychCentral's archives, regarding the difficulty with losing weight & keeping it off:

Also, here's a link to a YouTube video by family therapist Kati Morton on the subject of emotional eating:

Hope some of this information is helpful.
