I listened to another episode of the podcast by Peter Beer, and I thought he presented an interesting idea worth sharing. Although I can't be certain that I'm conveying it correctly.

Anyway, there's several different kind of hunger: a bodily one, which is your cells demanding energy; one of the smell, when you just perceive a tasty smell; one that happens when you see a clock show a usual time to eat, etc. And, of course, my personal favorite, a hunger of frustration, although Peter didn't mention it (at least I don't think).

So in most cases one kind won't be satisfied by what works for another. Which for me boils down to the fact that I won't feel happy when I try to soothe frustration with actual food... It seems to be an interesting idea to actually consider if the particular hunger you feel will actually be satisfied by food, or by some other method.

Meanwhile, I've managed to gain over 20 lb since June...
