Hi...I am 53 and my husband 68. He smoked and got emphysema 8 years ago...we've been married 11 yrs. He's on Oxygen 24/7 and is doing okay but it has been a drain on me...he can't do much physical activity, including any sex, and I am always "on call" to get him something, take care of house and pets (big house), and he drinks alot of wine every night. I am trying to get into an RN program, and I find I drink too much wine too from habit and stress. I don't have the money for counseling or a psychologist, but I know enough. My father was severely bi-polar and both parents drank and smoked and raged alot. I don't feel like I can relax...even when I've had 3 wines, I do laundry, clean, keep moving and being productive. I'm such an ACA.......can anyone give me ideas to live with a chronically ill person? We also have financial stress.........I haven't worked in over a year.......and his SSI doesn't cover the bills. I guess I'm sad, mad, stressed, hopeful, alot of feelings at once.
