My older brother is going home from the nursing home tomorrow. I am worried about his ability to live independently. I have got him a Life Alert system, and new safer chair to sit in.
I found out that Meals on Wheels doesn't deliver to his house because there is no volunteer to take it to him, and they won't let ME deliver it to him (wtf???)
I have talked w/ my other brother about plans, but we haven't really come up with a solution.
He is indigent so that's a big problem. My house is multiple floors and I have conflicting feelings about taking him into my home, and guilt because of those feelings.

Very stressed right now.

Please try not to be so hard on your self for being human, being a care-giver is very hard and especially when the one you are caring for requires 100% care - I have been there done that and I too had many mixed feelings.

So sorry, it's such a hard situation and decision...with all those feelings along with it. So sorry your going through this. Before you feel to overwhelmed continue researching about your options and figure out what would benefit both of you. And don't feel guilty because taking a dependant person into your home is completely life altering and nobody blames you for being hesitant. I would too.

My heart goes out to you, this is so emotionally draining and can really tug at your heart.
I'm sending you good wishes for strength and healing.
Take care now,
