Is it possible to be both BPD and BiPolar Type II??

I have a dr appointment this week and it seems this may be case for me and I am confused in one sense but in another it might explain a few things...

Thanks, so what does this mean then from someone that has been diagnosed with both?

Do I need to do anything differently? Should I expect anything from this roller coaster other than what I have been experiencing?

Honestly, I can't really tell you, not knowing you and your situation. I am only one person. I've had only one doctor diagnose me with both bpd and bipolar 2. I've read that since mental illnesses can be subjective, every doctor may have a different opinion on your diagnosis.

From what I've read, bipolar 2 is the less severe form of bipolar 1 and it is characterized by depression and hypomania (not mania). There are a lot of overlaps between the two (bpd & bipolar 2).

Honestly, I don't think so. Just take your meds, see a therapist, practice positive coping skills daily and you should be fine

Not sure if this helped much. I'm not an expect. Just another troubled girl trying to survive in this crazy world

I also have both BPD and bipolar 2. I was just dxd with BPD the other day, but had been told by a therapist previously that I have a personality disorder. She just kinda left it at that. Didnt explain it further or how to cope.
