Do they have some special method of treatment just for BPD? If so, do you know what it is? Maybe you can report when you have been to the group...

If the other group members have BPD too, they probably feel similar to you? I would try to remember they are all individuals, aren't going to feel in a "group" way. Some may not like you, you'll have to see.

CBT I think as I am in England people in America would know about it already we are so far behind of things here.
Why do I find it so hard to accept to being BPD ? I would rather be anything else but not this. |

I think a lot of the problem with a BPD dx is that one focuses on what others think and how we must look to others. Nothing has changed from before you got the dx and now? You are still who you are. Don't think too much about what a dx "means" just see if you can master skills and ideas to make yourself more comfortable to live with?

Are you doing the DBT group for BPD? I did that several years ago. It was more of a classroom effect, no Q & A., which made it difficult to "know" people.
Wishing you luck in the people liking you thing, it is a hard road I tend not to travel too much!

This is a more you all sit around in a big circle taking turns talking I dont really like it this way I would prefer a classroom effect but......
I am never normaly bothered if people like me or not I have been out of touch with people for a long time (two years) and now I am in a group of people I find that I want them to like me I dont know why. |

What makes you think they would not like you hun? |

Because my social skills are lacking, and I find it really hard to read people, so I have enrolled myself in a night school class for beginners in phychology in the hope that it will teach me a few tricks in reading people, who knows it may work.

That's a neat idea taking a class in psychology. But it may not be as helpful as you might wish; it is mostly about how the brain works, science. But you should have an opportunity to maybe get to observe and talk to some of the people in your class. That could be nice. I like class experiences.
