I suffer from Skitziod PD and I've recently been put under a huge amount of stress. People in my area have clued in that I'm helpless because I'm so issolated and have begun to take advantage for their own enjoyment. I get attacked regularly (both on the street and in my home) but the police don't seem to do anything because the group is so diverse.

I've tried to move but I don't qualify for the housing register. So I went to the doctors and tried to get rehoused on medical grounds, but because I have trouble talking to people the doctor doesn't listen to me and kicks me out his office.

My family put me up for a while but eventually I had to move back because I get clastrophobic when I'm around people to much.

The way things are going I'm beginning to believe that the only way I'm going to get out of this situation is by killing myself!

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can do?

You're very articulate in writing ... have you tried writing down your concerns to the doctor and handing the paper to him? If he/she is any sort of professional they will listen to you if you present your concerns as clearly as you have here How can I get the help I need?

Good luck. You've found a great new support system here, please keep us updated, we care How can I get the help I need?

Thankyou Fuzzy - the thought had crossed my mind but I kind of talk myself out of it?

Even if the doctor did move me I'm afraid that the same thing would happen again in whatever place I ended up. I don't want to have to run away all the time.

The kind of help I need is something that'll help me deal with what's happening, but I just don't have anyone to turn to for support.

Hey, I don't know where you live, but over here Social Services would (I think) help in this situation. You have to fight for the help you need and deserve. It's tough when the very people who are supposed to help us fail us.

Do you live close to your family now?

Sounds like there's been a lot going on for you, Dan. The link below is to a discussion in the Schizophrenia and Psychosis topic. There's an article there written by a doctor by the name of John Weir Perry. Perry worked with schizophrenics for over 40 years and identified a few specific patterns of behavior that are typical of a breakdown experience, including the links between stress and personality fragmentation. I've found his work to be immensely helpful in understanding my own experience and it's possible you might find the same.

Dan, print out this post and take it to the doctor or to the emergency room.

What do you mean by "getting attacked?" You do have the right to police protection if your safety is at risk. Even if it's more mental or emotional bullying, you don't have to put up with that. The police are less likely to feel like it is their responsibility if it's not a physical attack though. You could also go to a mental health clinic and ask for help learning to stand up for yourself and protect yourself and get your needs met. You can do more to help yourself than you know!

I really agree with Rapunzel. Excellent idea, print out your entire first post and give it to doctor or er.

Best wishes to you also.
