I've just become aware of what I previously thought was depression is probably boredom. Nothing sounds exciting enough to do. I'm not experiencing intense emotions nor obsessiveness now, so it's very strange I guess. I guess this is how I'm supposed to feel. But I can't find anything to do to cure the boredom. Shop, overeat, etc. -- I can't keep doing this.
Is there a cure for boredom? If so, does insurance pay for it?

When I get that feeling I threaten myself (get up and start) the worst thing I can think of to do (usually clean bathrooms Borderline Boredom ) and a funny thing happens, immediately I think of something I'd "rather" do, read, place to websurf, etc.

LOL. Insurance won't pay for anything, let alone boredom.

Hmm.....Actually, since most insurance companies don't pay for BPD or "intense emotions," ,maybe they will pay for boredom.

I experienced boredom recently in a session with my T and husband. It was a strange feeling to have. Later I decided I felt so bored because I felt no progress was being made, and the things I wanted to happen weren't. Nothing was happening. Result: boredom. So maybe if you start to move (whatever that means), you will feel less bored.

Not necessarily. Intense emotions are a part of life. Everyone feels them from time to time, whether they have BPD or not. Why are you not feeling things anymore? Is this a positive or negative for you? I don't know if you're taking any anti-depressant meds, but I've heard some of them can flatten affect and make a person feel less. If that's happening, then you could report it to your doc.
