I thought everything was ok. Only to really look and see how screwed up everything is. I thought it was under control. How wrong i was. It just wasnt extreme. Until it slapped me in my face. I think i meet or exceed all criteria. Will a crisis pass or am i doomed to end on the same path of years of therapy again.i cant handle hospitals and therapy for years.i just cant do that road again.

You do have a choice. What skills have you learned that you could use now? Are you using them as well as you could be? If you can remind yourself what you learned before, you can manage this time yourself. Or maybe go to therapy enough to brush up. You decide.

I don't think anyone is doomed if they have a certain diagnosis.

The way borderline was explained to me by a former Therapist was it is a learned set of behaviors that need to be unlearned. For some it takes a long time for some maybe not as long. So it isn't a life sentence.

The young king was in a desperate situation. He couldn't stand his intense changes of mood. He called his wise man and told him he needed a cure by the next day or the wise man would face dire consequences.

The wise man returned the next day with a silver ring. The king was dismayed and scoffed, "Do you think this gift will make me normal?" The wise man told the king to notice what what was written on the ring. It was inscribed with the words, "This too shall pass." The king nodded his head with understanding; put the ring on his finger and kept it close to himself the rest of his long, long life.

I love that story; "this too shall pass" has been my signature tag for years on a few other forums, and the phrase itself has often been a consolation in my darkest times
