I too have my horror stories from the various psych wards I have been in and the State Hospital was the worst. I was 18 years old and scared to death. I had heard all of these insane stories about what went on there, but I thought they were just trying to scare me. I was sent there from the local hospital psych ward because I had been there too long and not improving. They had no Idea what to do with someone with a case of PTSD as severe as mine. They just wanted to lock me away in the "pit" Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and just leave me there, I never saw the first person for three days, I was alone with my flashbacks and nightmares, so I say (((((((((HUGSSSSS)))))))) go out to you for being brave enough to even attempt to go to the hospital!!!!!

Blameme, I'm so sorry, I was 27 before my past caught up with me, and the flash backs terorized me. I can not imagine what that must have been like at 18 in such a place, I'm so sorry. Sometimes it feels like peole with PTSD get tramized just as badly by the medical health sytem as they do by the original event. I wish it could have been better for you.
