Now they are trying a new game. ("They" being the insurance co. that pays my medical, salary.) Since the last (and only) hearing was cancelled (again) they say they want to "settle." HA! It is only a delay tactic so that the hearing is cancelled again and then it takes another 6 months to get it on the docket.

If I don't at least say I'll listen to what they have to say, they it goes against me for not even trying to mediate. BUT it's them who won't mediate. If I do go to mediation to settle, but their offer is absurd, the judge will only hear that I wasn't able to mediate.

They have done this a few times before. I should be used to this, but they push buttons and they know it. They have no intent to settle.
