I had nightmares all night about my abuser ( rapest) then I woke up and I could see him floating over the top of me, so freaky. I want him gone.

It will go away after you have worked through this for a while. Those dreams are coming because you are dealing with those memories of those events coming forward now. So the brain hastles with it at night too. But that will subside. Can you take anything to help you sleep? I took Klonopin for a while to help me get some sleep. I am no longer on it, but it helped me while the bad things were coming forward. There may be better medications than Klonopin though with less side effects available now. (((Hugs))) Open Eyes |

If you go to the top of the page when you are on the post traumatic form you will see a sticky for grounding techniques.
The original link is gone but go to page 6 under (((Pegasus))) the Community Liaison there is a link starting with; psychcentral.com/showp.. That will bring up some grounding technique's that you can use when those kinds dreams wake you up. You can print the page and take it to your pdoc's and talk about how to use the different tools to neutralize the dreams and make yourself feel safe. You are not alone in PTSD. It is a journey, it is not your fault, you did not do anything wrong and you do not deserve to suffer. Safe hugs.
