Last February (2011) I was involved in a head on collision when my Hyundai Accent struck a Dodge Pickup head on.
My Hyundai folded like a tin can. The hood was up to the windshield, the windshield was smashed, the steering wheel was bent upwards and I was pinned in the car as the engine came right up to my chest.I had to be extracated using the jaws of life. I shattered (not broke, shattered!) both femurs, both ankles were broke as was my left knee and my left clavicle. I also had internal bleeding and my BP bottomed out in the ambulance on the way to hospital. I went through five hours of surgery and then spent six weeks in a cast then two months in hospital rehabbing. In early March I had surgery to remove hardware in my left leg and it is much better now. However, just prior to that my mother passed away. She had suffered a massive stroke and was gone in less then two days. She had been sick for diabetes for a long time but it was still a tremendous shock to me. I am receiving physchiatric care and just started on a new pill that I can't even remember the name of! It will come to me later.... I am trying to take it day by day but it seems like every time I think things are going better, something comes up to kick me right back down! |

I'm so sorry. Wow, what an awful experience - I can only imagine. It's tough I know, but all you CAN do is take it day-by-day. or even minute-by-minute.
