I feel like such a chump. My therapist had said things like I love you, i am attached to you, I know you know you are special to me, she put herself in the diagram of people who wanted my love, etc... Now when I asked if she wanted a friend ship with me she said ."i should have charged you for the phone calls..." she says no sue I care about all my clients.....I feel like an idiot...How am i supposed to trust what i feel now? I really thought that we had a really close bond that was very special. I have never had a therapist act like that before nor have I had any confusion about the relationship before. Can anyone relate or comment. I just feel so hurt now.

OH I m sorry to hear this! Did she really SAY those words to you??? that is such a shame, a T misbehaving like that it just isn't right! ((safe hug))

I agree..your T is supposed to be supportive, but that behaviour is just way out of the ballpark. I'm sorry that you were hurt like this. (((hugs))))

I started to feel too attached to a therapist about 7 yrs ago and I stopped going....
In your situatio I can't believe how unproffessional your therapist was....that is completely unacceptable. It is normal that now you are questioning everything about the experience... I hope you find someone professional and can really trust, wishing you the best, Patricia xx |

Welcome to PC Suesue .... I hope you like your stay here we are a bunch of warm and friendly people here.
No about your problem with T the things that were said to you are boarderline of misconduct.... they were ethically wrong... or at least that is what I think..... Lilith

What your therapist did was wrong. I am sorry that she hurt you like that. I hope you find one you can have a truly professional relationship with. Don't give up they are out there.

I can't help but wonder if the therapist loved you as a human being. but I was not there so I do not know. and we in the vonorable state we are in mistake it for something else. again I state I do not know as I was not there. My be something to think about.

So sorry about your therapist's misconduct. Have you reported her? Hope you find an ethical, professional T soon.
