Have you ever seen a video that traumatized you so bad to the point where you thought about it all day everyday, effected your home life and in the end, you had to constantly re-watch it over and over again, analyzing every frame of it in hopes that you can become desensitized to it and forget it?

No Wolfgang, but I have had things bother me where I have a strong need to think about it, even talk about it and analyze it.
Part of PTSD is how the brain can "need" to take extra time and "analyze" things, especially things that are "offset and out of place or are wrong" somehow. Remember, the brain becomes very "sensitive" with PTSD, so I can imagine in this scenario you are talking about that something that is disturbing as you discribe can become something to be "fixated" on. I find now that when something bothers me, ok, like the "questions" about Bengazi, I am going to "want" to bring it up and express that I can really sense something wrong. I tend to "need" to see if there are "new answers" or "controversy" about it and am somewhat "fixated". Well, "some" people also wonder, but because of my PTSD, I am "more fixated" and have "greater need for answers" than average, because with PTSD, things are "magnified". Try to see if there are any "connections" to your own history in this trama. Pay attention to "yourself" and it is good that you asked this question actually, "self observing" is good. And, while you self observe, also understand how "ptsd" affects people as well. By doing this you can begin to actually "gain" on the PTSD instead of being alarmed by it so that you "think you don't have the control" you want. Are you gaining on getting better about this video, or does it keep making you feel uncomfortable? Open Eyes |
