I am interested in hearing from anyone who was adopted in the 1960s or 1970s and who have developed PTSD as an adult. I believe my own PTSD was brought on by excessive trauma throughout my life, and by my adoptive family and later, an abusive husband an hostile job conditions. However, being in foster care until 6 months of age, I have no idea what other factors may have contributed to my current condition. I have functioned exceptionally well at certain junctures in my life, and have served in the US military (no trauma), but am currently interested in connecting with those who have developed PTSD from life situations other than military service or war.
Thanks to anyone who can make me feel less alone with this odd crossroads in conditions. |
