Why can't I get my husband to understand what I am going through? Last night he took my keys during one of my anxiety attacks and I freaked out. I hate feeling trapped even though I knew I wasn't in danger I was so scared. Sometimes I just feel trapped. And held down like I have no control over my own actions. I can't explain it to my husband he doesn't get it he just thinks I'm crazy. Which I am. I wish I knew how to turn off the part of my brain that made me feel so anxious and nervous. Anyone out there feel this way? I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks stemming from PTSD from
Being raped when I was 15, and it just seems like after the birth of my daughter it all seems so much worse now. I literally feel C-R-A-Z-Y

(((Krystaowens))),

Are you seeing a therapist that specializes in PTSD treatment? You need to have a support system in place, you can't do this on your own. I have a really good T myself and my T has met with my husband and informed him that I genuinely struggle and that he needs to stop being angry, dismissive, and unsupportive to me. It has helped me so much to be able to work on the PTSD and have support verses consistently uttering what you are saying here.

No, people do not understand PTSD and they tend to react in very demeaning and unsupportive ways "blaming the victim" which only aggravates the PTSD even more.

Not your fault.

Thanks for this!

I have an appointment coming up August 26 with a new therapist hopefully I can connect with this one and trust her. But I'm gonna have to do some kinda tricks to get hubs on board and get him to go he's very stubborn and doesn't really believe in alot of mental health issues
