I have to wait until August 26 for my new psychiatrist appointment, I don't know if I can wait that long

After I was raped at 15 (10 years ago) I started hearing and seeing things others didn't see. I never told anyone I kinda learned how to to turn it off, smoking weed really helped..

Well now 10 years later the voices Are back, they've been back for a few months consistently where before they were very random. But now they are so bad I can't concentrate on anything! My kids, husband, job, motherly duties. I'm really worried about myself and how's family is going to take it when they find out.. No one knows, they know I have PTSD but nothing like this.

Is this normal with PTSD or is it some form of schizophrenia?

There are two voices in my head that are recurrent, a southern accented man, who is the most recurrent, and an elderly woman. The woman is nice and offers words of wisdom, but the man is evil and tells me scary things. Like the man behind the counter at the gas station wants to kill me.

I'm a nervous wreck should I just check myself in to a hospital? This is miserable

Maybe the psychiatrist could advise you on how to deal until the appointment? He may see you early, or refer you to someone who can see you sooner...

(((Krystaowens))),

I have never "heard" voices myself. The good part is you "know" these are not real people and it isn't right to hear voices.

If you can't get in with a psychiatrist and you are really struggling then it really might be better to check yourself into psychiatric unit of a hospital.

Have you tried calling your regular doctor and telling him/her? Your regular doctor may know someone who can see you right away.
