Last night, went out at dusk for a ride, and ended up in a neighborhood nearby that I spent a lot of time walking and riding in last year when I was very messed up. And, I had one of the strongest reactions in a while - brought back strong memories of last year. Lighting is actually a big trigger for me -same time of night, same overcast skies as a night last year when I was very upset.

And, it was very uncomfortable- I can only describe it as a sense of being very uneasy, just very jittery. Like I am afraid something bad will happen. Foreboding might be a good word for it. Anyway, I was glad to get out of that neighborhood.

it can be scary when those feelings overwhelm us. I hope you took care of yourself afterward.

I think this comes from one of two things: either you're reminded of something in the past and are being triggered, or you're having a gut feeling about the present. Or maybe both.

I hope you're okay.

Thanks. I'm ok. I saw what happens when I'm not ok, and that is never happening again. Just going to be an emotional period for me. I have a lot of new coping skills to use.

I think you described it very well. Glad you have some new coping skills to help you with it.
