Its too much for me to handle, I hate driving, I'll only drive when its 100% necessary. Even then I'm yelling half the way there because it feels like the walls are closing in on me. People in front going slow, people behind me going too fast, it all makes me anxious. Then to make things worse when you get stopped by the cops: Panic Attack! I swear I almost died of a heart attack today.

Did you suffer a specific trauma involving a car, or is more of a general anxiety?

At any rate, sorry about that. The roads can be rough, a lot of people drive like traffic laws don't apply to them.
Thanks for this!

Yes I did suffer a few specific traumas in a car, car accident, being arrested from a car, and being ran off the side of the road by an ***-hole was the latest one. I had to pay a bunch of money and got points on my license because the police officer lied in court because she hates me. It seems like just generalized anxiety when it comes to little **** like this, until I have a full fledged panic attack on the road. My heart was pounding so hard when I got home it actually hurt to breathe. Yes driving is crazy, its way more dangerous than flying in a plane and I even get anxious about going in a plane to.

I mind of thought so. I wish I had wisdom about it, in our society it's so hard to avoid cars, since public transportation is poor in many places. All I can do is commiserate.

Glad you got to see yout T. Sorry driving is soo anxiety producing. Hope you can find some techniques to help with that.

I tend to get a little aggressive when I drive, my colleagues and friends laugh at me......that actually helps me calm down because I realuse I am being a d1ck!

Thanks you know what they say laughter is the best medicine! I already know the techniques for coping, staying in the present and not looking too much at the mirrors or trying to be too perfect when I drive. It just got shook because I got pulled over earlier, thankfully I was let off with a warning and made it back home without more stress than anybody in my situation needs to handle. Therapy has been pretty therapeutic I was doing better when I was going 2x a week but I think adding a group therapy on top of my 1 on 1 will help fill that gap. I've made huge progress so far in therapy, my T and my Pdoc are both proud of me.

Thank you for the kindness I hope the same thing for you, I'll just have to keep reminding myself of that unpleasant panic feeling when I'm driving and try to obey the rules of the road to the best of my ability. I guess I should be grateful that I have transportation, I'm hoping to score a good job soon, hoping to end my days of poverty. Having financial difficulties makes the stress much worse, I got some food assistance and this has helped me tremendously because now I can actually eat the food I like. I need to eat a balanced diet or my mental health suffers.

Angry again today on the road, I swear people must've got their drivers license in a cracker jack box! I was trying to get somewhere but the lanes were all plugged up with miscreants. I got so sick of driving, I came back home, parked in the driveway and now I'm going to ride my bike! Because driving is just terrible on the roads. It wasn't even rush hour and the traffic was so plugged up I bet its because the economy is so bad now - NOBODY has a job. "The economy is getting better - there are more jobs" says the media. Yeah part-time, low wage, high stress jobs that aren't even worth the pay in gas $.

Who knows? Maybe riding your bike will let a gentle breeze flow through your soul, and bring happiness I keep hoping <3 but atleast one thing is sure - you'll be able to navigate through rush hour traffic a lot better!

Very true, riding my bike helped wonders for blowing off my anger. More than the rant did, I also called a friend and yelled a lot and he agreed with me how careless people can be on the road is despicable. I also bought some ice cream at the grocery store when I was up there, coconut mmm.

You are right about the navigation, much better on a bike. Thank you for the support!
