Hey I recently got put on Lorezapam because I'm afraid Seroquel will cause me to have psycosis again (last time I was on it I was one of those unlucky ones who got that side effect from it ) but I don't think the Lorazepam is helping? Like I feel calm but my thoughts still race with fear. Its only to be used sparringly as needed, but my as needed isn't exactly sparringly. But yeah is it SUPPOSED to help with flashbacks and paranoia associated with the flashbacks? Like does it help anyone else with that specifically? I'm still going to give it a shot but like............ffffffffffword

I am sorry that you are having such a tough time Koojriu, I hope oyu find what works for you soon. Kind hugs

I have not used lorazepam, but have experience of those that have/do. I would definitely recommend following your doctors recommendations, the only caution I would give you is that it can be highly addictive and very difficult to come off of after becoming addicted.

Yeah I am being careful but as it stands (only taking it twice) I don't stop freaking out I'm just numbed, and I stop freaking out on Seroquel but it HAS caused psycosis in the past and I have friends and a councoler who agree its just, doctors just say "this is the only solution other then benzo's" but its like.........f

I'm no expert on medication, so I really couldn't say. I just hope that your docs and counsellor can help support you to find a strategy to manage this that works for you and that you can continue to use in a healthy way into the future.

Kind hugs again ((()))

I take propranolol. It helps calm my body down while I work to get my thoughts under control. I took it for about six months, and was able to stop. I rarely have anxiety or panic attacks anymore.

It does slow thoughts down as well. It might be good to look into. I find it's much more effective than any other anxiety medication I have ever taken.
