Ok im gonna keeps it short and sweet
If its called flight or fight why dont I do either? I freeze, and lock up. I want to run I plan Escape routes in my head. I look for weak spots in areas like doors windows anything if I run or jump hard enough ill break through. But, if the situation changes and the flight or fight response is spose to kick in why do I stand there like an idiot? |

Well, I googled this one, just to see what I could come up with - in a nutshell, it really sounds like it should be the flight, fight, or freeze reaction - all three are equally valid and equally used, in the animal kingdom, responses to danger.
It seems that how a person reacts, which one they go into, is dependent upon a lot of complexities, the nature of the threat, the past experiences, etc. So it may be just how you respond in that situation. Guess it beats bolting though a window and cutting yourself. Hope that helps, that's my very uneducated take on it. |

Does a little, thanks.
I would rather fight against every situation, in a positive way, but once the shaking starts that's it. Im stuck to the spot. Therapy starts soon i hope, just done the referral. Now I have to explain everything to someone new, someone who, for all intensive purposes, is going to be judgemental. If I lock up in the room, what do i do, what if i lash out. So many questions and I can't answer them. |
