Before I face the day today (holidays can be stressful), I want to start with a focus on thankfulness. Even though I am having a lot of trouble with anxiety related to trauma, I still have much to be thankful for.

I'm not homeless (was very close when I lost my house after my divorce). In fact, my son and I are in a small, comfortable rental house that I have finally gotten arranged and decorated so that it feels like home.

I have a mini that I use for gentle exercise that doesn't hurt my joints. (Just had to fit that little guy in. He's so funny.)

I have my son with me and my daughter nearby. They are going out to eat with their father today to I don't have to cook a big meal. I am just in charge of desserts for the 3 of us later in the day, the best part.

I recently made a new friend who has experienced a lot of similar things as I have so I feel like I finally have someone I can talk to who will never think I'm weird.

We had a dusting of snow recently so everything is beautifully white.

Related to that, we have central heating that flips itself on a few minutes before I get up in the morning!

Gosh, I could go on and on, but I need to get started on the pies. Oh yes, I'm thankful that I found some good recipes for gluten-free pies!

Wishing you all a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving!

.

Cooking a turkey for the fam - my boys will enjoy that - well the little one eats anything and scrounges the floor for crumbs, my old boy is fussy and I have trouble getting him to eat a lot of the time, but he must eat twice a day before his insulin. Keeping it simple, stuffing, cranberries, a salad, store rolls, a vegetable mix, and fresh pineapple.

On edit - lest someone calls CPS on me for letting my boy scrounge the floor, that one is a lab puppy, my old guy is a spaniel, LOL.
