I'm feeling so depressed, disconnected, alone, and misunderstood. I went into foster care and feel like people just leave. My self esteem is so low and I feel like others hate me too. The only support I have are like temporary professionals. Sometimes I wonder why I had to be born into this world. Things are so hard and I'm not sure how to manage it all. Most of the time I just pretend that I am happy, but I'm hurting so bad inside. These battles I deal with alone. No one really understands.

I'm very sorry you're going through this. Can you check around for peer support services? It's normally people of all ages that provide the support who have experienced similar circumstances and have come out the other side. I know they can become a true help, support, and a friend to talk to, whether about your feelings now, or about other things too.

Hi.
I haven't ever been in foster care and have had stories of really great foster parents and ones that are horible so I know it can be isolating and horible if you're alone like that. Because I'm living in a residential facility for people with mental illness caseworkers really do come and go and that can also be really hard. I've found it's important to find someone really stable. For awhile that person was the clinical director who also did therapy with me. And my best friend and I are stable supports for each other. Plus I have a lot of online support.
Geting a good therapist or counselor or someone you know isn't gonna be tempoary might help. Hugs. I'm glad you had the courage to reach out here.

I am sorry that you are feeling so alone. Do you have an advocate of a guardian ad litem? Either of those and your social worker should be consistent supports as you go through this. If you've had to change schools, reach out to your old friends and try to stay in touch. If you need anything you can always message me, I used to volunteer as an advocate for kids in foster care.
