I too feel emotionally detached, I cant even cry. I didn't always used to be like this, only until the incident that caused me ptsd. my question I this...can you become so overwhelmed that it can cause a blackout? in my case, it lasted 1 1/2 days. I remember absolutely nothing. im scared and don't hvea therapist to talk to. please somebody help. creatively crazy

I am a professor of Art and Design
who has had nightmares about the
Holocaust for 30 years.

I feel quite numb and detached in certain
situations.

I don't think you are creatively crazy.
Whenever my PTSD attacks,
I feel like I am living in my own
personal war zone. This is when
it is the most overwhelming for me.

I do not think you are alone
in the way that you feel.
It just seems that way when you are
going through it.
