I haven't been on here lately.. I was told I have PTSD. I'm 15.. I don't really know how to handle it in all honesty.. I wish I could forget alot of stuff and I know I cant so I'm going to try and get better and I got medication for Anxiety and Depression to help the effects.. I wish I could just be done with this I'm so exhausted. I'll find out something.. I'm going to get better.. I have to..

Acceptance is the answer to all your problems...something I learned about 5 years before you were born in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous...AA Big Book pgs 448-449 in 4th edition.....416-417 in 5th edition. You should read it if you ever get a chance. Sometimes in life the only difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is in how we use them...I too have PTSD and Repressed Memory Syndrome due to Rape Trauma Syndrome as a result each one causing the next...it takes a long time and you may or may not fully recover but you will learn to live with the symptoms and life will become managable.

Have you actually been diagnosed with PTSD? If you were, then whoever diagnosed you should be providing treatment for you. There are specific criteria, not just wanting to forget bad things.

In a nutshell, it means that you experienced a trauma so severe that it permanently altered your brain chemistry. Check this out...
NIMH » Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Hey, just do what your parents ask you do...Attend therapy make it gear towards you and what you like to do..If u don't answer the question that are too hard to understand then don't...Tell your folks if they seem to forceful....Sports, music, just be you and everything can be talked about when you trust your therapist.
