So today was my appointment with new therapist I went and in the middle of the talk I talked about the traumatic incident and she was silent kinda. It obviously traumatized me. She later did mention that she is not religious and she doesn't care and she has other clients who do the same. I felt a little better but still.

Do you think I should maybe next time if I go should ask her if she should re-assure me that she is not being judgemental or feel uncomfortable by me and then discuss the traumatic incident or should I not? what should I do? I am lost. I am afraid it might re-traumatize me.

I told her if she would say to me that this was a big moment in my life and she said I don't know you that well to say that.

I feel confused.

Is this your first time in T? What did you expect her/him to do? Why don't you go into therapy at a religious organization? They will talk back in a kind compassionate way, if I'm mistaken most therapist I've seem outside of a religious organization wasn't really full of empathy but mostly problem solvers and offered suggestions on what I've experiences due to triggers and switches...THey psych educated on things I didn't understand and needed to shed light on.

I can understand where you are coming from, it was my 3 year in therapy and I got a therapist who knew about DID/PTSD as my diagnoses and she was quiet, I felt like I was free associating there...I mean I would talk the hour ...There was no chemistry in my opinion, so I made the change. To be fair to her I was still in abusive relationship at work, and I needed to slow my life down some. Also, people with DID need to communicate and need time to speak, parts need their time or it stays inner which can be bad also. Since, I struggle a lot less with anxiety and have meet/meeting my system and have these experiences we want to discuss everything.. Sometimes to a fault because everything should be gotten until trust is gained. At the time though I needed her to be more of a problem solver, psycho education, offering suggestions etc...

I changed Therapist because this was a big deal to me. Discuss it with your therapist she/he maybe more accommodating to your request and may tailor the style to be geared to what you like.
