I recently posted the thread "How to talk to my parents."
I got some great advice, and I just wanted to share an update on how I am doing. I decided to confide in a friend, who is a few grade years ahead of me in school, and while we had only really started being friends for a few months, I really trust her. So I told her what was going on.
And I wish I had done it sooner. I was terrified of what she may think of me, and I thought she may think I was doing this for attention, but she was completely understanding, and had gone through similar things herself. While I still haven't told my parents, it feels so much better to have at least someone to turn to. I feel less alone, and she knew exactly what to say to make me feel better.

So my main reason for posting this is to thank anyone who posted on any of my threads giving me advice and support, and to anyone who hasn't told anyone about what they've been dealing with, to do it. It may be hard- very, very hard, but you will feel so much relief after.

This board usually has a lot of negativity, but here is one post saying it absolutely can get better!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
