i don't know if this is the right place for this but i was wondering if any of you guys have this happen to. lately i keep seeing things that are giving me flashbacks. i don't know if its cause i'm just noticing stuff more or what. but i seen that movie black snake moan and even though i'm a guy some of the stuff that happened to that girl in the movie and especially how her mother was was just like how my mother was. seems like stuff like that just keeps popping up and bumming me out

(((((sincity)))))
I have had that happen to me also. Certain movies I have watched will bring back memories and they normally are not good ones. I usually start crying and have the need to get up and leave. Its very uncomfortable for me. Can put me in a depressive mood. I wonder...are they unresolved issues for us when this happens?

Hello (((SINCITY))). Yes certain movies have set me off into a very bad flashback pattern. I have had to actually evaluate what I watch and I do not watch any violent movies, scary movies or anything that will leave a lasting impression later. I do not watch TV at least 1 1/2 hours before bed, and I do not sleep with the TV on. I also take meds and go to bed as closely to the same time daily. Exercise and eating healthily as you can helps a lot as well. I hope things get better for you soon, and this is just temporary. If you have a therapist a good therapist can help you decide what you can watch safely or a journal is good at letting you know your triggers. Take care of yourself. Soidhonia

alot of scary movies are triggers for me ...i try to stay away from them but its really hard especially if they are in random commericals or in random spoofs...even the spoofs trigger me....whats worse for me though is music....music is such a trigger for me....

Unfortunately, most movies, television, and everyday noise can trigger me pretty badly. I find that I have to avoid these when I can or I could be caught in what I call a "flashback loop" that seems to last forever. I'm hoping someday that I can enjoy these things or even just tolerate them without having to deal with flashbacking.
