He was supposed to have had his career ruined.

I was jolted awake by the radio this evening. There, on national radio news was the voice of my perpertrator. While my military attempts to have him charged were cruelly quashed the civilian secretary of the unit was successful. Her charge of harassment went all the way to the Human Rights Commission. She won.

One of his punishments was that he was no longer allowed to be placed in a position of leadership unless closely supervised himself. It was understood he would never go beyond the rank of junior officer.

I would love to say his name love to say his position love to say his rank but know I can't here.

Let's just say it is my shock to learn he is shall we say within one step of Chief of Defense Staff.

What a crock.

Hi justafriend

I am sorry, that just seems so unjust
And I can imagine that you must feel betrayed by those along the line who should have acted appropriately in addressing what happened and his future career
But you know you can still take a lot of pride in knowing that you did speak out, you did do the right thing, you didn't just let it go. And it can take a lot to do that, as I'm sure you know
And you know maybe your attempts at speaking out could have spurred on the civillian secretary if she knew about them, leading her to speak out too...........otherwise you're certainly a voice on here encouraging that
As for him.........well the charge of harassment can follow people in different ways, so he may still be experiencing repercussions and consequences of that even if it isn't evidenced in his position/title..........if that thought might give you just a little comfort...........
But try not to let the seeming injustice shadow/take the focus from your personal healing, you and your wellbeing are more important than that.

While this is terrible to hear, what Frankbtl says is correct. You can't focus on this injustice so much that it causes you more pain. He has already caused you enough pain, don't let him cause you anymore just because of the utter failure of our justice system. You can't control that.
Thanks for this!

Well after about a week I've been settling down (CBT work has some affect). Still I am incredibly irritated.
