I have been with my husband for 5.5 yrs married for a little over 2 yrs. He has paranoid schizophrenia which is tough enough to deal with. However, I myself have PTSD and bi-polar which makes things 1,000 times worse. I have no idea how to handle things at times cause I feel I have to walk on egg shells to protect him but sometimes I feel the need to be selfish and say what about me and my feelings. It is super hard to deal with.

((Blast.from.the.past))), welcome to PC and the PTSD forum. What you just described is Very challenging. It's very difficult to get help with too. YES, you deserve to think about your own needs too in this challenge. It is understandable that doing that is most likely very difficult for you. With such a big challenge like that it's important to do what you "need" one day at a time. Do you have "any" help?

Not really, not anyone who would remotely understand. Most of my friends I have had through the years have lives of their own so we don't speak.
