my body literally relives the full extent of pain from memories.
how is this possible... it hurts so badly, in flashbacks, it can lastup to two hours and then suddenly disappeares once the flashback is over. excruciating pain.

(((shoez))), I have that too. Sometimes I am in pain and I even get the chills and I don't even know WHAT triggered it. It's taken me a long time to slowly figure it out.
If you do experience a flashback that hurts physically/emotionally etc. If you can figure out the trigger and be able to recognize what happened, it reduces the severity and even the length of the trigger if you acknowledge that something did take place, you remember but that you are "ok/safe" now. What people who don't personally struggle with PTSD fail to understand is that it is "intrusive" and the person struggling is not consciously making it a point to remember and have these challenging reactions/triggers/flashbacks happen. ![]() ![]() |
