Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone was dealing with Acute Stress Disorder. I would like to just talk with you and see how you are dealing with it.

Hello justawondering: Well... I've certainly struggled with a boatload of anxiety pretty-much my whole life. But I've never actually been given a formal diagnosis. Plus I'm an old codger. So I'm likely not the member you want to talk to here on PC. However, if you keep posting, I'm quite certain you'll find that member.

I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

Well I think I had this the end of last year. Saw a therapist weekly for several months, but now have PTSD from the event (after a certain period of time they no longer call it acute distress disorder). Not in crisis mode from that anymore. Now its my C-PTSD thats impacting me as well as anxiety attacks and depression. I do get occasional flashbacks from the "event".

But the therapy did help me a lot.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
