Hi guys I need a bit of help.. this year I've had to be put under three times for surgery related hospitalization. Short story is I have cerebral palsy and I had one of my most major surgery of my life in January. After I had to spend weeks in the hospital and then had two emergency surgeries one of which was two days ago. I don't know how to cope I keep having fits of anxiety because of going through anesthesia and find myself panicking at random times because I went through so many extensive surgeries and rehab in such a short period of time. I went through so much pain and discrimination and I'm afraid of having to go through it again and just the fact that I did go through it means I could go through it again. My friends dont know how to help me with these random fits.. help?

I read an article a while back that a lot of people who've been in the ICU develop PTSD, so you're not the only one that has PTSD after a medical thingy.

Every rehab center I've been to employs a psychologist.. maybe so does yours and maybe you can talk to him/her?

I'm out of the hospital now after three surgeries and four weeks of rehab I had talked to their psych but only four times she promised to get me help but we could make no other contact after because my mom did not approve..

Why does your mother need to approve?

Oh, that sucks. I remember when I was underage and needed help and my parents wouldn't let me.
