Can you guys offer any personal stories that you think might help?

At the very end of my last session with my therapist we conjured up a ghost I never wanted to believe in in the first place. I didn't know that it had such a huge affect on my life after so many years. I feel like we opened up Pandora's box and my anxiety is by FAR the worst it has ever been. I can't stop thinking about it now and it makes me want to be sick. We're starting a series of EMDR whenever she can get a cancellation and I'm really nervous about that too.

I hope you guys are having a peaceful day.

Hi Billy,

I find surfacing memories have a very strong impact initially.
Over time, the memories don't have as much power, at least in my experience.

Have you studied DBT and/or CBT? These each teach great coping skills. It's vital to have a good solid "toolbox" of coping skills prior to processing trauma, if possible.
