whoo hoo, rock on

i had 2 ptsd reactions today; one from work, one from my cat .
at work (in the mall), this lady chewed me out for NOT telling her merry christmas!!! I told her have a good day.
she starts yelling, "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! that's why you make all this money!!!"
i said "happy holidays" . she yells “NO! You tell me Merry Christmas or i'll never shop here again!!!"!
ok - please don't ( I didn’t really say that)
I almost told her Hanukah started last night.
but thought that would only make matters worse. At any rate, i switched into another part and couldn't talk at all. Lol I just stared at her, mute, until she went away.
Christmas is not the only holiday celebrated right now, nor the only one ppl are buying for. honestly.

So then tonight - on the news they were showing the devastation on the Oregon coast (flooding) and people's belongings piled up in the streets. well it looked just like New Orleans after hurricane Katrina and i was having flashbacks... My cat chose that moment to paw at my toes with his toes and i started jumping up and down, darn near kicking him.
he started jumping up and down, skittering from side to side, with eyes rolling and ears flying
i seriously thought he was some dark creature coming after me out of the gloom (he was under the table; dark large creature out of the shadows...) stuff from the nightmares I had out there after the day’s work.
oy. so he was feeling hurt and frantic, not understanding why i would treat him that way. there was a long hugging period after that to calm us both down. i think i may have yelled, too. but again, i switched, so i don't know for sure.

I always say Merry Christmas unless I know the person is Jewish. There are a larger percentage of Christians than other celebrators... but since I'm only the customer, it doesn't matter what I say? I do it with a smile though and would never think to yell at someone. She sounds like she is having her own issues of the holidays, eh?

I'm glad you and your cat have made up. That's what's so great about pets...they continue to love.

squishes - cute whiskerie cats - i love them. he's asleep on the foot of my bed and gave me hugs tonight.

I have not had any more ppl yell at me for the holidays - thankfully. Now they're just mad that the shipping date has passed I wonder why ppl think only *their* package is mailing at this time of year...
