What the letters before the diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder mean? I have read some people describe their disorder with the letter "C" in front of it. Are their different types of PTSD?

Hi Tulip,
I think you're talking about C meaning Complex PTSD. And yes, there are different types of PTSD. You can read more about it here. http://psychcentral.com/lib/2006/types-of-ptsd/ |

Hi Tulips
I have been dx with C-PTSD. Some professionals often dx people as BPD even when they actually have C-PTSD. Since they changed my dx from BPD to C-PTSD I actually have made significant progress.
