I was wondering if anyone else might have this problem and hopefully a solution. I have nightmares and flashbacks occasionally and sometimes it takes a little while for me to come back to reality. My boyfriend gets very angry when this happens. He feels frustrated when he can not get me back right away. Does anyone have any advise on this?

ask him if he wants to help you. if so, then ask him to help "ground" you whenever you are having flashbacks. whenever you are having a flashback, you are reliving the past and feel out of control and helpless once again. to be grounded in the present, you need to become aware of (1) where you are at (2) you are safe. your boyfriend can ask you questions to help you feel safe again. he could remind you are with him, help you breath slowly, and feel the ground underneath your feet. other grounding techniques he can do is touch you in a safe place, like on the back of the hand. he could also ask you "where in your body do you feel the fear?" "what does it feel like?" whenever you explain how you are feeling, you can process the things (memories) you need to get out of you. (((((huggs)))
