I haven't been here in a long time... In short, been riding the roller coaster and it won't stop the loopy loop.... Tonight I will be taking my first dose of Seroquel. Starting with a low dose of 25 mg for three days then up to 50 mg and then we will see after that.... But i am nervous, it has been a long time since i was on meds.... I took tomorrow off work.... The doc's original plan was to try Abilify but the insurance wouldnt pay for it... So we first have to try the Seroquel and if that dont cut the mustard then we will try Risperdal... and Then if that dont do the job then the insiurance company will consider paying for the Abilify.... I personally dont care as long as soemthing gives me some relief soon!.... I checked out the ratings section and looks like there are more negative ratings than positive ones for Seroquel.... So if anyone has any positive thoughts or experiences with it, I would love to hear from you.... Just need a glimmer of hope... Thank you....

Hey, I would not worry that much as the Seroquel. I have been on it now for almost two months. I find that it has been helping but not as much as I thought it would have. I was tired the first two or three days but I started at 200mg. I am now on 400mg going to 600mg in two weeks. I hope all goes well for you as it has for me. Things are started to level, doc is adding lithium also when I hit the 600mg mark. I also heard all the negatives about Seroquel and it really freaked me out, but with my own knowledge now, I find it not as bad as I've heard.

I started Seroquel about three weeks ago and apart from thinking that my asthma was worse as a result - turns out I just have a really bad virus which has nothing to do with the new medication.

I started off on 25mg and then went to 100mg and am still there. No problems so far and that says something for my body and the drug as I react to 95% of medications.

Some say it puts on weight, some say it doesn't. I have yet to notice any difference.

Good luck with Seroquel.

Hi, I have been on Seroquel for 6 years. I have tried Risperdal, Zyprexa, and Abilify, but Seroquel works best for me. I remember that when I first start taking it I became very drowsy. I found that over time I was able to adjust to it. When I got to 200 mgs a day, I noticed that I wasn't getting that sleepy after taking it. Seroquel hasn't caused rapid weight gain for me. I had a bad experience with Zyprexa, because it caused me to gain 10 pounds in 2 weeks.
