Has anyone out there had strange almost hallucenigenic dreams with this med?
Have just started it and last night I was having dreams that after i woke up seemed like they had actually happened. ie: kids calling for me, doing things I would normally be doing , making tea, laundry, etc. What a shock that I hadn't been awake, just wondered if anyone else has had this happen and does it go away? Thanks for any replies. Tracy

Sounds interesting...
I've taken Trazadone and I've never experienced a side effect like that. Then again, it basically knocks me out b/c of it's sedating qualities. ![]() Are you sure it's not just a fluke? Has this happened previously? I can have some pretty lucid dreams on occasion.

I have taken trazodone, it also gave me awful dreams that I at times would be awake and was not sure if I was asleep or awake which became very scary for me since I live alone. I would be asleep sometimes and doing things as if I were awake. I had to eventaully quit taking it. Everyone is different, good luck in finding what works best for you.

I was on this ONCE - I took the pill and 15 minutes later it was as I was TOTALLY ripped (drunk).
So another on my list of things that don't work |

I take trazadone and have for years. I'm on Prozac and that interrupts my sleep so the trazadone helps me sleep. I've never had dreams with it. Of course I seldom remember dreams I have so it doesn't seem any different. Keep looking for something that works without the side effects.
Good luck. |

I've had more dreams that I can remember since being on Trazodone but nothing scary like that. You may want to change the dose before trying another drug if it's at least helping you sleep.

I take 2 100mg tabs every night to help me sleep. Just started a little less than 3 weeks ago, after I started using Abilify. No dreams for me, just some good sleep.

Pretty much all psych meds give me nightmares, or at least very vivid dreams, including Trazadone. Mostly the weird dreams settle down over time, but the nightmares with trazadone were intolerable and I quit taking it after a couple of weeks. I take Benadryl at bedtime (1 or 2 tabs) and that works well enough for me.

I have no problems with trazadone, and only take it when I need to for sleep issues. No strange dreams; but, I hardly remember my dreams anyway.
For those who have trouble the next morning, try this. Take the pill 10 hours *before* you want to wake up. Peace!

Hi TracyL. I took Traz for a very short while. Maybe a week. I was already having serious nightmares waking me up constantly. But on Traz they were worse and i couldnt get myself up to get out of them. If they were good dreams, I'd say hey i'll stick with this med. lol
Good Luck with the traz. chalmette |

Yeah so I have been on Trazadone for a few months and when I first started.. I had the craziest. .. most REALISTIC dreams ever, I would wake up in the middle of the night heart racing etc. But that wore off after 3-4 weeks, now it just helps me sleep
