Good evening...i posted this under the "bipolar"forum also but i havent really recieved any advice so i figured maybe i will try putting a note in this forum too since it is a med related question/issue.... Looking back at photos even from as early as 8 months ago,i have noticed a tremendous thinning of my hair from them to now. I mean,i struggle with my hair everyday.....always hoping for a good hair day vs a bad one but now its as if i know i am not imagining what i have thought for sometime now.....my hair is getting thinner and thinner.I am currently on 200mg of Provigil and 100mg of Lamictal.I believe I have been on the Lamictal for a longer period of time than the Provigil, but my long term memory is hazy.I was on both of these meds at these doses when the pictures i saw were taken. I am also on 40mg of Celexa which i have only been on for two months, before that i was on Cymbalta and Seroquel.Does anyone have this same issue, can anyone help me pinpoint which med is the cause? I would say i am pretty stable for the most part with my BD,so i am nervous about stopping one or both my meds but if i wait too much longer i feel i wont have any hair at all to complain about. Also over the last few months i have added Biotin,Vit B complex and a multivitamin just to try and help my hair along from the inside so to speak.TIA for any advice

Just last week my pdoc told me to take Biotin for hair loss. She says it works remarkably well. Perhaps you can do a google search and see how much to take each day. I don't know what else to suggest, but I wish you the best.

thank you so much for your reply.i am up to 1000mg a day or 2000mg a day if i remember my second dose in the evening, lol.I was checking out some vitamins on line that support hair growth and such and i think one of them actually had 3000mg of biotin in it.I think i am holding off with that dose cuz i read up on biotin and some ppl complain about it making hair growth in other parts of the body.I am very fair skinned and have always had those pesky little stray chin hairs.I had nightmares of waking up with a beard soooo i am just taking it slow for now.thank you again

You are most welcome. I don't want a beard either. If I get any more info, I'll let you know.
