Hi
I just finished reading the Sexual Side Effects of Effexor but since I'm not a guy....Don't think Viagra is gonna work for me ![]() I am on Paxil 30mgs (daily), since May, and have noticed that I have "no, none, nada", interest in relations with my husband. In fact sex is not even on my radar. I don't think about it at all. This is not normal (duh). I was wondering if anyone has the same symptoms and what they have done to help the, "cough, umhum, issue"? Could this be a side effect that will correct itself soon???? |

I think the sexual side effect is not uncommon with Paxil. You might try adding Wellbutrin to that or you could try another SSRI entirely, such as Lexapro, which, like Paxil, is good for anxiety+depression. If you were prescribed Paxil just for anxiety and not depression, which some people are, you could look into other classes of drugs prescribed for anxiety, such as one of the benzos. You could also try a lower dose of the Paxil.
What does your prescriber say?

Actually, I had a doctor who wanted to prescribe Viagra for me (a female) to help with the sexual side effects of one of the many meds I've been on (I forget what I was on at the time, but Paxil is among the ones I've taken), but I didn't want it, because I have a phobia of going blind, and vision problems are a risk with Viagra.
Besides what sunrise said, you can also try arousal products that some women love, such as KY Intense, but these products don't work for everyone, so be aware of that.

Never thought of the products, well, take that back, I did but figured if there wasn't any interest they wouldn't work. I'll check into it.
