was just wondering if anyone has taken this dose before. My pdoc upped the meds saying he wants to aviod using anyother mood stabolizer. First night and really not tired after three hours. I even took zipiclone 7.5mg to help me sleep. Hope doc finds the right dose of whatever to get this dealt with.

I cant remember the dose I was on however I slept all the time on it, and after a few months I started to get shaky legs after I took my dose so in the end had to come off it.....
In saying that I have to admit it was a good drug to take it kept me stable all the time. Hated sleeping as much as I had been though. |

I have been on 800 mgs of Seroquel for atleast 2 years. I started out on 50 mgs, but over the years worked my way up on the dosage. When I first started taking it, I could barely stay awake in the day time. However, after I got over 200 mgs I noticed that it was far less sedating. I think that Seroquel tends to be most sedating in small doses. I know a few people taking it for insomnia and they all seem to take less than 100 mgs.
It sounds like your doctor increased your Seroquel dose thinking that it might help with your sleep. Your experience has already shown that the increased dose doesn't help you sleep even though you took it with zoplicone which should make you fall asleep on its own. Hopefully, your doctor will try some other meds and you will find something that works. K |

It's been my experience as well that the smaller doses knock me out. I started with 25 mg and it wiped me out totally. But as my dose increased (ended up with 600 mg) the sedative side effect decrease. My main problem with the drug (other than all of the medical side effects) was that it relaxed my throat so much that if I attempted to eat or drink anything an hour after taking the meds I'd choke.

I was on 800, to be taken at night right before bed. I've tapered down to 25 mg now due to the food cravings. I actually feel pretty good.
But yes, my doc said I could have gone up to 1200 ![]() |
