I've tried looking for existing topics, but it's hard since search says the term is too short and google just keeps finding results for "same". :P

I tried this for a few days, and I was amazed that it actually seemed to lift my mood and energy a bit within a day. Definitely not just a placebo effect. I'm pretty sensitive to meds so the first day I broke a 200 mg pill in half, then took 200 mg a day after. The pills I got are a decent brand and are enteric coated, which I know is supposed to help with the stomach issues. But the night of about the 3rd or 4th day, I woke up in the middle of the night with severe stomach issues (vomiting, etc.) The other worry was that I did have too much increased anxiety after a day or 2, I felt almost overstimulated and a little irritable, and a few headaches. I don't want to end up super angry or hypomanic/mixed.

I'm afraid to even take it again because I don't want to end up awake in the middle of the night dealing with what basically feels like a bad stomach virus. Still, I'd hate to have to give up when it was helping some (plus I spent $20 ha). I'm just worried because from the bit I've found online, I think it kinda seemed like people who had anxiety and stomach issues from it got worse or at least not better.

Has anyone tried SAMe? And has anyone experienced side effects from it but had them go away with time? Also, I've heard mixed things on this online, is it really bad to break the pills if you need a smaller dose? I know the enteric coating is supposed to be useful, but then some people say it's fine.

Thanks!

Did you take them on an empty stomach in the morning? That works best. And it takes a few weeks to work properly.

Were you still breaking them in half? That would destroy the effects of the enteric coating and might be why your stomach was upset. If so it's worth another try probably.
