Hi,
I'm just wondering if you take an antipsychotic if you've had hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, diagnosed with diabetes, or no problem with blood sugar, and what med you take?

I've been on various atypical antipsychotics (currently on Zyprexa) for 2 years and have not yet developed hypo/hyperglycemia or diabetes.

I have not had any blood sugar issues with the atypical antipsychotics. Good Luck.

I'm currently on Zyprexa for a few years now. I put on 60 pounds. I hade to go to the ER, my blood glucose was over 650. One of the reason for this poll is to find others experiences, and hopefully find another good antipsychotic (atypical or typical).

I don't have diabetes nor hypo/hyperglycemia. I do take meds which one of their purposes is for anti-psychotics and some medications do tend to shift around blood glucose levels.

If you do have diabetes though, then from what I've heard is that there are diabetes centers and you may be able to get some information from them as to what medications are likely to alter blood sugar. I'm sure you can find this online too but you want to ensure that it's credible.
