Ok, the docs determined that all my unusual numbness all over is anxiety. They had me start Lexapro Saturday morning. It has made me feel SO tired and I'm nauseated!!! I am struggling to keep my eyes open all day and then awake and anxious at night.

Today, I didn't take the dose in the morning, but am going to try it before bed to see if this helps.

Has anyone else experienced this with lexapro? If so, does this go away soon? How long till I feel somewhat normal again?

I have been taking lexapro for awhile now. I switched the time of day I took it because I felt tired. So I have been taking it in the evening. The time varies anywhere from dinner to bedtime. And I don't have any side effects from it. Has helped me for a long time. However it hasn't been helping me enough lately so I have had to add Wellbutrin. Which I just started today.

I am taking Lexapro because of my symptoms of PTSD (anxiety, staying up until 4-5 am, hypervigilence, and depression). I have been on it for a month, taking 10 mg every morning. Yes, I also feel like I can barely keep my eyes open through out the day. When I do get to bed, though, I am out! Maybe I should ask my psychiatrist if I should change the time I take it also? The main thing that I question is if it is working. Anyone out there that experienced noticeable changes? If so, what are they?

Anyone experienced weight gain at all?

Ok, so here's the latest... I took it before bed last night. I still didn't get a full night's sleep, but I could function at work today without feeling like I was going to fall over.
The doc also called and my bloodwork showed a vitamin D deficiency, so they called in a high dose of it for me. Maybe that will perk me up too.

Hey bellatrix. I was on lexapro for almost a year. I had those same side effects. Except I was really cold too. But they went away after about a week. Give it some time. It's a good medicine.

HI Bellatrix- Ive been on lexipro since august and those dizzy, sleepy feelings I had in the beginning scared me b/c I thought Id always feel that way. It went away/decreased in a week or two, but when I went up in dose, it returned. After a while it decresed. I take it at bedtime now and I have no side effects from this drug at all (Im on 20mg). And my depression and sui feelings have decreased, and if I feel that way, it does pass quicker. This is a good drug. Give it some time.

Also- I take a lot of supplements, one of them being D3 in a high dose daily. It helps alot! Good luck.

I was on lexapro for about three months this summer. I took mine at night to avoid being sleepy all day and it worked out quite well. However, it made me very dizzy and I was passing out at work, so they put me on celexa instead.
