I have developed a horrible rash because of lamictal. My pdoc is making me quit taking it very quickly. I normally take 150 mg morning and night. She had me the drop the morning dose. I am to do that for 7 days. Starting Thurs., I will drop the other 150 mg. Do any of you know if dropping it so quickly can cause shaking, headaches and gastro problems? She is titrating me off desyrel from 150 mg/day to zero, 50 mg a week. I feel terrible. Any advice will me most appreciated.

Thank you.

Jan

Desyral (sp?) probably can cause more of a withdrawal problem than Lamictal, but maybe both are the culprits, coming off of them.
My highests regular dosage of Lamictal is 200mgs per day, when we tried 250mg the extra 50mg was not good, got agitated and shaky. Didn't have that as I came down dosage wise.
Well we all experience meds differently, so I do not know what to tell you.
Desyrl, only took 2 days, gave me horrendous headaches and drowsiness and pdoc said it was okay to stop it.
Just do not give up on meds. you'll get to the right combo and what meds are right for you.
I'm sending you positive energies on this matter Lamictal Withdrawl Symptoms

Thank you DE!

I'm not about to give up on my meds. They have helped me so much, no matter what the side effects. My pdoc will get me back on track again once this stuff is out of my system.
