I binge-drink every once in awhile, and I know it's not good to do that on my meds (or at all), and I was wondering the extent of the damage the occasional binge drink could do. Thanks in advance!

I think you answered your own question actually, its not good to binge drink . People on no meds DIE from alcohol poisoning. Alcohol and medications together intensify the alcohol feelings, and the medications actions. Sounds like a bad idea all round. Good luck !

Yeah I'm 22 and in college and totally know what you mean with the whole binge drinking and meds thing. I know it is so easy to say don't do it and all that jazz, but we are young and it is just part of the culture. I try to stay away from drinking period, but there are some nights where I will have 4 or 5 drinks.
The main problem is that it really messes with your sleep cycle, which can really add to depression and can just make things go out of control. As far as the chemicals in your brain it just makes things harder to get better.

As others have mentioned, even "occasional" binge drinking is dangerous. I used to do this (to make everything go away), but I've been very scared since i gave myself alcohol poisoning a few months ago. They did blood tests, and luckily i didn't do any permanent damage to my liver, but i could easily have stopped breathing (with the mixture of alcohol and multiple doses of prescription drugs in my system). Do try to be careful; drugs and alcohol together are much stronger and much more likely to do damage to your system than alcohol alone.
