I started wellbutrin 3 days ago. How can I tell if I'm anxious/panicky as a reacion to the drug or as a reaction to life circumstances or just because of run of the mill anxiety which i have from time to time?

should i take a klonopin to feel better?

what is the difference between mania and anxiety?

if this is a wb side effect will it go away?

am i going to be ok?

I DO NOT want to go back to the dark, sad, underwater place, but this feels impossible too.

help!

You could probably take a klonopin to ride out the anxiety. It would probably be hard to tell if it is the wellbutrin. I never had that problem with wellbutrin, so I don't know. You've been pretty nervous about taking the meds, so you may just need to give yourself some time.

I have a lot of trouble with anxiety with or without medications, but I have found that wellbutrin really helps with my depression. But as far as I've been told and have read from other people, wellbutrin does dramatically increase anxiety for some people. I take xanax to work on my already present anxiety and to help mellow out the anxiety that the wellbutrin causes. (I take 1mg xanax 3x daily.) I would say that taking the klonopin will probably help a lot. Give it a try. Also if you remain more anxious than usual, tell your pdoc, I'm sure he's familiar with anxiety being a side effect of wellbutrin.

Aside from the anxiety are you feeling anything different yet? I know its only been a few days...

I do feel less depressed for sure...I think because the wellbutrin feels a little speed-y and it helps me get things done. I didn't realize how bad I was until I started feeling a little better.

I ended up taking 1/2 of a klonopin and it totally fixed how i was feeling. now I just feel "better" again.

thanks for the help, both of you

Oh I am so glad the klonopin made you feel better. The wellbutrin does do a sort of speedy thing.

I'm glad you can feel the depression lifting too.

Yeah, Wellbutrin caused more anxiety for me, which didn't go away (they say it usually does, so don't worry too much!). I ended up switching meds to something less "activating" (as my doctor would say) and that seems to be working fine.

I definitely took more clonazepam (klonopin) on wellbutrin...they're not incompatible, so if you feel as though you need it, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm glad you're feeling somewat better!!! And I hope that the anxiety tones down soon.
