I'm currently taking flupentixol (along with another medications I’ll name later on this message), I’ve been taking a dose of 1 mg for a month. I mainly started taking it to replace ziprasidone (geodon), from which I couldn’t stand its side effects (arrithmias, very low blood pressure, panic attacks), I started with 1 mg, then switched to 2 mg when my doctor said so, since with the 1 mg dose I didn’t get what I was I supossed to from the medication (a less disperse or erratic head, mainly), but the tiredness increased and I started feeling like I didn’t want to do anything at all, as if I was completely drained from all the energy I had before (geodon made me a little more enthusiastic about life and it also cleared my mind a lot, that is, until the moment when my blood pressure started to go from low to too low, which caused me a great deal of anxiety, helplessness and arrithmias), so I reduced my dose back to 1 mg after 7 days, and I felt slightly better (but still not well at all), but after a couple of days I started feeling much more depressed than before.
I don’t have a clear diagnose, the three psychiatrist I’ve been to (1 year with the first, two years with the second and three interrupted years with the third) haven’t been specific about that. My questions regarding what I said above are three: - Could the tiredness, the heaviness of my fingers, the stiffness of my neck, the increased appetite and the blurry vision I’m experiencing be related somehow to flupentixol or its interactions with the other medications I’m talking (see below)? - Could this medication aggravate depressive symptoms? - Isn’t there something more appropriate for clearing and giving some order to my mind besides that type of medication (antipsychotics/neuroleptics)? (exercise sometimes helps, but only while I’m exercising) I’m taking: Isotretinoine (for acne) 20 mg. Lyrica (Pregabaline) 150 mg (two pills of 75 mg an hour before going to bed) Lamictal (Lamotrigine) 200 mg (two 100 mg pills, one at the morning, one along with lyrica) Zolpidem (for sleeping issues) 10 mg + Fluanxol/Flupentixol 1 mg I’m also talking 2 g of vitamin C and a multi oil formula supplement from GNC. P.S: Sorry for my poor English and lack of synthetic skills. |
